Mission Statement

Our focus is on creating awesome events that push your mind and body a little farther than you though possible, and sharing with you the positive effects of spending time outside and exploring new places. Our goal is to help grow the sport we love at the grass roots level and continue to introduce new people and the next generation to adventure racing and the outdoors. We are committed to thoughtful course design, exceptional customer service, and providing a memorable and complete racer experience.

The Addicts

Adventure Addicts Racing is a race company that was founded by friends and former teammates Michelle Faucher and Andy Bacon in November 2011, because they love adventure racing and wanted to help grow the sport. In 2016, Adventure Addicts transitioned to a non-profit organization run by Original Addict Michelle with the goal of putting on awesome events at a grassroots level, involving people of all ages, and introducing the next generation to the sport and the outdoors.

Michelle Faucher, Founder and Executive Director

After watching the Eco-Challenge back in the early 00’s, I became intrigued with the sport of Adventure Racing and decided to give it a try. After two races I was addicted and have never looked back. Over the years I have competed in dozens of adventure races from expeditions like Primal Quest to smaller sprint races—and everything in between. Like most adventure racers I love the outdoors and can’t wait for the weekends to get out and play. Over the years I've gotten involved in race directing and course design putting on “Michelle’s Diet” which has become a popular winter training event in the Mid-Atlantic region. My love of all things adventure and my desire to see the sport of adventure racing grow continues to motivate me and I'm committed to getting as many people as possible addicted to adventure :)    —Michelle
